The Gift of Choice

One of the things I love most about the Akashic Infusion Deck is that the cards continue to reveal new layers of meaning over time. When I first wrote about the Divine Empowerment card, I saw one aspect of its message. This week, it revealed an entirely new layer of understanding. The card hadn't changed...what I needed from it had.

"Wisdom does not seek to make your choices for you. It illuminates what is possible and lovingly waits for your response. Your freedom to choose is not an obstacle to your journey—it is part of the journey." – The Akashic Records

Last week, we explored ways we can recognize wisdom. Unlike fear, wisdom does not pressure, shame, or demand. It quietly invites us toward what is true for us.

Why?

Why don’t the Records simply tell us what to do? Why don't our guides move us where we are "supposed" to go?

Many of us secretly hope that spiritual guidance will work that way. We wait for the unmistakable sign, the perfect opportunity, or the moment when life finally makes the decision for us. We imagine that if we are truly connected to Divine guidance, somehow the right path will become so obvious that we cannot miss it.

But what if that has never been the purpose of wisdom?

Many people imagine that our guides are meant to direct our lives—to close one door, open another, and somehow move us toward the path we are meant to follow.

But our guides are not here to replace our free will. They are here to support us as we make our choices.

They cannot make our choices.

They cannot create our lives.

They can only illuminate possibilities and lovingly invite us toward what is true for us, because choosing is part of becoming.

Our purpose is not simply to arrive at the right destination, but to become more fully ourselves along the way.

Every moment offers an invitation.

Every invitation is an opportunity to choose.

Every choice creates the life we are living.

Every time we choose what is true for us rather than what is familiar, we become a little more aligned with who we really are. Every time we choose courage instead of fear, authenticity instead of approval, or love instead of control, we strengthen our relationship with ourselves.

That growth cannot be handed to us.

It cannot be imposed upon us.

It must be chosen.

That is why wisdom never demands.

An invitation leaves room for us to participate. It preserves our freedom, honors our responsibility, and reminds us that our lives are not meant to be directed from the outside in. They are meant to be created from the inside out.

Wisdom can illuminate the path, but only we can walk it.

No one—not even the Divine—can choose our life for us.

That is not a limitation.

It is one of life's greatest gifts.

Every time we choose what we know to be true for us, we are not simply making a decision.

We are becoming the person we came here to be.

What choice has wisdom been quietly inviting you to make?

Affirmation

I welcome wisdom's invitations, honor my freedom to choose, and trust each choice to shape the person I am becoming.

Journaling Prompts

  • What invitation has been quietly returning to me that I have not yet been willing to acknowledge?

  • Where am I waiting for life—or someone else—to make a choice that only I can make?

  • What choice feels true for me, even if it doesn't make sense to everyone else?

  • What am I becoming through the choices I am making each day?

  • If I trusted that my guides were supporting my choices rather than making them for me, what would I do differently?

From My Journey

One of the most amazing gifts I receive from exploring the Akashic Records with other people is the opportunity to learn. More often than not, I come away from a client session with a new understanding, a new perspective, or simply a gentle reminder of something I may not be living fully in my own life.

One of the greatest lessons the Records have taught me is that wisdom does not arrive with certainty, and that my guides will never "move me like a piece on a chessboard." (Their phrase, not mine.)

That realization has changed the way I live my life. Instead of waiting for something to happen, I have learned to stand up, make the choices that feel true for me, and trust that each one is helping create the life I am here to live.

To me, that is freedom.
