How the Records Meet Us Where We Are
When I teach students to connect with the Akashic Records, I acknowledge that many people imagine them as a library—shelves, books, a sense of structure and order. I share that I have never experienced them as a library. I imagine them more as a database, and I encourage my students not to hold onto any fixed expectation of how the Records will present themselves.
The truth is, the Records meet us where we are—through the language, imagery, and experience that will make the most sense to us.
In my most recent Akashic Records class at The Om Shoppe & Spa in Florida, I witnessed that in a way that was both unexpected and deeply beautiful.
A student in the class opened his Records for the first time and received a simple impression: music… and trees.
I had asked him to not ask questions—just notice his Records.
As he continued to work with them over the course of the class, that initial impression began to unfold. What he came to understand was that his Records weren’t a library at all.
They were music.
Music was the way to open the Records—the key itself. And the information was stored within the trees.
The rings of the trees represented lifetimes, almost as if each tree held the wisdom and experience of a different life.
This was the way his inner wisdom chose to communicate with him—through something familiar, intuitive, alive, and deeply meaningful to him.
Then came a moment that captured it all.
During one of his explorations, he saw a symphony surrounded by trees. His father stood at the front, conducting, while his grandmother—who had been incredibly important in his life—played first violin. Other family members and guides filled the orchestra around them.
At a certain point, his father turned to him and invited him forward.
Invited him to conduct.
And as he stepped into that role, something shifted.
He realized he wasn’t just directing the music.
He was now playing all of the instruments.
It’s a powerful metaphor—one that extends far beyond the experience itself.
We often move through life believing we are simply responding to what is happening around us, trying to keep up with circumstances, expectations, or roles.
But this perspective invites something different.
Like this student discovered, you are both conducting the symphony of your life and playing the instruments that create the music.
Your choices.
Your responses.
Your direction.
And perhaps most beautifully, the message that came through was this:
usic rises and falls.
It carries sadness and joy.
There are moments of intensity, softness, uncertainty, and celebration.
But the music is still beautiful.
Just like life.
The Akashic Records will always meet you in a way that resonates with you—in a way you can receive, in a way that feels natural—using the language, imagery, and experiences that make sense to you.
Sometimes they may appear as a library.
Sometimes as a database.
And sometimes… as music.
The beauty of the Akashic Records is not in how they appear.
It’s in how precisely they meet us.
Exactly where we are.
Exactly as we are.
Affirmation
I trust the unique way my inner wisdom speaks to me.
Journaling Prompts
Where in your life are you waiting for direction instead of recognizing your role in shaping what’s unfolding?
What might change if you saw yourself as both the conductor and playing the instruments?
Is there a part of your experience that you’ve been overlooking because it doesn’t match what you expected it to be?
